Over the last years, the soccer gear world has felt like a three-horse race. Nike and Adidas are constantly pipping each other for the lead, and PUMA is always sitting just outside the top two. The NETFIT system isn’t just presented as something to alter the world of soccer cleats, but as something that’s meant to make FUTURE a better cleat. It’s also been straightforward to see why new PUMA athletes easily gravitate to the cleat as each version has boasted supreme comfort, an excellent feel for the ball. With the PUMA Future 19.1, it’s time to observe if this cleat has been able to continue to provide smiles on players faces, or if this is not ready for the future but ready to be left in the past.
PUMA hasn’t been scared of launching a host of color combinations right after a cleat has hardly hit the market. FUTURE 19.1 is no different. Barely a few months from launch and PUMA has already graced us with four different colorways. While we love the launch color combination in terms of fitting the eccentric stylings of Puma perfectly, all the three releases after that have also attracted the attention of many.
The design on the upper is best expressed as being a fingerprint that’s been stretched to cover the entire cleat. The ridges of the “print” are built on the cleat as well, and they’re surprisingly solid to the touch. It’s an excellent idea of putting a fingerprint on the upper shows how closely this cleat sits to Puma’s chest. The parts that aren’t covered by the fingerprint design are mostly unexposed EvoKnit. Moreover, these sections look almost identical to past FUTURE cleats.
PUMA Future has offered an incredible level of feel for the ball since we were first introduced to this unique cleat. By including the Evo kit and NETFIT technology, Puma has made sure that the cleat offers an excellent feel for the ball and an experience that fits the personality of the Future. The newest version seems to have a similar build and silhouette to past releases. So, we hope that you will have as much fun in this version.
PUMA Future 19.1 is no different as the soleplate offers brilliant responsiveness. It helps you make sure that you can stay on your toes from the start to the end of it. The conical studs are perfect for keeping you from worrying about slipping and allows you to make quick cuts. Puma does say as AG/FG, but the studs are slightly longer for a turf ground for AG use.
We are clearly impressed with this PUMA cleat. The comfort and the feel on the ball are exactly what top-tier models should work for. The overall package the FUTURE offers will please players playing at any position, and of any age. In a time where everything must be geared and marketed towards specific play-types, it’s great to find a cleat that exists to be enjoyed by any. If you’re looking for a high-quality cleat and want to wear something different than PUMA Future 19.1 is for you.
